Department Admissions Campus Location Escanaba Min Salary $45,534 Max Salary $56,981 FTE 1 Full-time/Part-time Full-Time Position Type Staff Job Summary/Basic Function The Adult Student Success Coach supports students from exploration to completion using best practices supported by the Achieving the Dream Strengthening Community College Advising Series. This three-year grand funded role will work primarily with adult students, age 21 and over, to help them begin their college experience, explore guided pathway options, and review credit for prior learning opportunities that directly impact defined retention and completion goals and metrics. This individual will also be working internally at the college to grow and strengthen guided pathways efforts and lead the development of institutionalized credit for prior learning processes and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree business, communication, leadership, education or related field. Two years experience working with clients, students or customers in a service- oriented role. Experience with project management processes and project management software. Exceptional interpersonal skills that result in trusting, long-term relationships. Self-directed and able to independently manage time and projects in a face-paced environment; results driven. Exceptional listening skills and the ability to gather, analyze and accurately interpret detailed information. Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a higher education institution work with students. Knowledge and experience working with guided pathways and credit for prior learning (CPL). Knowledge of, and ability to work within, continuous improvement systems. Job Duties Job Duty Oversee the adoption and codification of guided pathways policies and practices, ensuring they become an integral and lasting part of how Bay College serves all students. Work collaboratively with Director of Transfer and Student Advising and other key stakeholders to grow, develop and institutionalize guided pathways functions and tools from admissions through graduation. In collaboration with other campus leaders, oversee project management of the development of guided pathways processes. Develop processes related to onboarding students, explaining guided pathways, and supporting students through the entry process. Act as the lead coach to newly admitted adult students to support next steps related to entry, onboarding and completion of college. Assist in onboarding adult students to the college, including group presentations, individual support meetings, and continued support as students transition into the college. Develop and use communication plans, in collaboration with Admissions and Advising departments, to assist students during onboarding to college and into advising. Support students in connecting to appropriate college staff to discuss guided pathways, career exploration, financial aid, and other supports. Collaborate with the Registrar's Office to develop consistent policies and procedures to support Credit for Prior Learning. Promote credit for prior learning opportunities to new and returning and assists the student in navigating the process. Ensure goals and metrics associated with Go Big Grant are met. Ensure policies, practices and tools for fully implementing guided pathways will be standardized by Spring, 2026. Ensure all new entering students will be onboarded into the revised guided pathways strategy by Fall, 2026. Ensure that every adult student who expresses interest in Bay College will be knowledgeable of guided pathways and CPL opportunities to support their time to completion. Collaborate with the Institutional Effectiveness Department and other Go Big grant team members to collect and track project data, manage timelines, and report project outcomes. Participate in the Achieving the Dream Strengthening Advising Series to implement an ATD advising model aimed at transforming our approach to student advising through guided pathways which will impact the adult student completion rate.
