The Drywall Framer/Hanger fastens drywall panels to the inside of buildings using hand tools, power tools or adhesive. In addition the Framer/Hanger Mechanic is a leader for their Helpers and should train and teach their Helpers on a daily basis while simultaneously learning as much as they can to further promote themselves. Job Duties: Measures and marks cutting lines on framing, drywall and trim, using tape measure, straightedge or square. Recognize and correct unusual installations. Layout work for projects. Install metal framing. Secure metal framing to walls and furring channels to ceiling. Measure and mark cutting lines on drywall. Fit, align, and hang doors and install hardware such as locks and kick plates. Attach drywall to metal studs using a screw gun. Installing insulation in wall as sheet rock is installed. Install horizontal and vertical metal studs. Learn and abide by OSHA and BLHI safety rules and regulations. Forecast the workload and needs of the helper and yourself so that they do not experience down time. Have the ability to read prints.
