Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company’s Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Assem bler (Level A) to join our dynamic team in Sylmar, California.
Spectrolab is the world’s leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems, with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolab’s state-of-the-art space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earth’s orbit, as well as the International Space Station.
Position Responsibilities:
Performs simple production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, equipment and accessories using manual operations
Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements
Understands wiring and gauges including basic knowledge of reading drawling's and schematics
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position is for various shifts (1st, 2nd, & 3rd). Candidates must be willing to work any shift.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Experience following written and verbal work instructions
Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment
Ability to read and interpret system prints and schematics
Experience soldering and terminating wiring
Experience in wire stripping, soldering and welding
Experience in J-STD-001 Soldering
Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. high school diploma/GED).
