The University of Miami/UHealth, Department of Radiology, has an exciting opportunity for an MRI Technologist Level 2 - Floater. The MRI Technologist – Level II is responsible for performing complex procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) through the operations of radiographic equipment to obtain highest quality of diagnostic images. Independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative are essential in addition to responsibility for designated areas, procedures and equipment. Supervises the day-to-day operations in the absence of modality Chief Technologist or Radiology Manager. Core job functions include coordinating/managing scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures, supervising and performing diagnostic imaging studies under the direction/supervision of a radiologist, assisting with education and training of new physicians, assisting radiologists and PhD's in developing new protocols and Ultrasound imaging techniques unique to the facility, participating in research initiatives and development of research protocols, acting as a team leader routinely, monitoring charging of Ultrasound procedures and supplies daily, demonstrating Ultrasound equipment for site visits, providing in-service classes, obtaining and examining MRI scan orders, ensuring orders are appropriate, verifying patient ID, obtaining necessary consents and education, performing complex specialized tasks with MRI scanners under supervision, integrating diagnostic and patient information to adapt exams, adhering to MRI protocols, and assisting in patient positioning during procedures. Minimum qualifications include 3 years of relevant experience, valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer, ARRT registration and certification, high school diploma or equivalent, and graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging Program.
