Title-Patient Care Technician - Dialysis Outpatient Clinic
Location- Yarmouth, MA
Duration- 13 weeks

12 Months minimum recent dialysis experience required.
Certification required: Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician CCHT



Job Duties

• Provide the direct, patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the patient treatment.
• Assist licensed nurse with pre and post dialysis patient assessments and their documentation.
• Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets.
• Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the supervisor.
• Assist with all emergency operational procedures.
• Initiate basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest and respond to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment.

Experience

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital/clinical setting or related facility preferred; Dialysis procedures/treatments and machine experience is required.
• Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis. Successfully complete CPR Certification

Education

• High school degree or G.E.D.
• Education in physical sciences and/or training in laboratory techniques preferred.

• Floating requirement : Client required candidates to float to area sites within 50 miles of the main site

Shift details : Shifts will be discussed in detail during the interview; the role requires a commitment of 40 hours plus overtime and floating to area sites as need be. There is a minimum guarantee of 36 hours per week. Please note you are NOT eligible for Guaranteed hours if any of the following happen:
Schedule requests/restrictions
Refuse to float
Late to shift
Left early
Called out
Time off planned
